Perhaps your plans for New Year’s eve are going to be a lot different than what they used to be, but we will make the best of it! 2020 is coming to an end and this is traditionally the period to think about your resolutions for the upcoming year. Why not make some for you and your cat? In this blog we will give 5 suggestions for an unforgettable 2021!
- Healthy diet
Is your cat carrying more weight than your vet would recommend? Then now is the time to create a healthy eating pattern for your purry friend! Your cat will have more energy and will thank you. A small weighing scale can help you to monitor their evolution.
A healthy diet is important, but it’s also crucial your cat drinks enough during the day. If you notice your cat is not drinking much, try to create several spots where your cat can find some water to drink. Giving them more choices will increase the chance they will drink enough!
- Time to play
You may have seen previous blog posts where we stress the importance of playing with your cat. It’s not only fun for your cat, but you will enjoy the quality time as well! Don’t use the excuse you don’t have time, you can already start with 10 tot 15 minutes each day.
- Time for a vet check-up
Even if you have a healthy cat or you don’t notice any issues, it’s always a good idea to go to your vet for a yearly check-up. It you have an older cat, it’s important to give extra attention to their teeth. The sooner you notice something might be wrong, the better. You know what they say: an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!
- Litter box
Do you think it’s time to clean the litter box more often, but you always manage to find an excuse to do something else? Then it’s about time to change this habit! Cats like to keep it clean and if you do this chore on a regular basis, it only takes 2 minutes! Do you want to keep the area around the litter box clean as well? Good luck and enjoy 2021!
